Job Crawler 1.0 – DivineCoders | Job Seekers Resource (USA)

April 9, 2015 2 comments
Are you unemployed or under-employed? Are you having trouble finding a job? Believe it or not, millions of Americans are just like you and with an unemployment rate of approximately 6% we as a country need as much help as we can get. Here is one option.

According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, 5.5% of Americans are unemployed, but are actively searching for jobs, as of March 2015. However, this figure is nothing more than an estimate, as it does not count the number of discouraged individuals that have given up, assuming that there are no jobs for them nor does it consider those individuals that have never had a job, are retired, or are currently under-employed.[1]

Surprisingly, if one combines the total number of American citizens that are either unemployed or under-employed, we find that the real number is actually 10.9%, as of March 2015, which having a total population of approximately 321 million people means that approximately 35 million people are either out of work or are living paycheck to paycheck.[1][2]

We here at DivineCoders find these statistics to be quite concerning and though admittedly we do not have an end-all solution to America’s job issues, we find that we can help in small ways and have done just that by creating a new resource for job seekers.

This software does not attempt to replace resources such as CareerBuilder, Indeed, or any of the other online job boards; however, it is itself a resource like those that will help you locate businesses in your area that MAY be hiring. This software does not guarantee that your job search will be successful, but it does guarantee to help narrow your search, thus giving you an advantage that MAY lead to employment. Your success is in your hands.

Job Crawler 1.0 – DivineCoders | Job Seekers Resource (USA)

Job Crawler 1.0 was designed with *you* in mind and therefore is extremely easy to use. The remaining sections of this article will take you through the process of performing a search for potential jobs near your location using Job Crawler 1.0 by DivineCoders.

How it Works

Job Crawler 1.0 crawls, a free online resource that provides business listings in the US, thus collecting links to business websites in your selected area, but it doesn’t stop there. Once Job Crawler 1.0 collects a new link it automatically crawls the link searching for indications of a careers page, if it finds one, then that link is stored locally within our software as a possible candidate for which becomes available for your consideration.

How to Use it

As stated above, Job Crawler 1.0 is very easy to use. Simply input your business category of choice, such as “Warehouse, Computers, Accounting”, or whatever you like, then input your location in the form of either your city and state or your zip code, set your preference to either Distance or Relevant, and finally click submit to begin the search process.

Search Process

It’s really that easy. On average, the search process completes within a matter of seconds, as indicated by the progress bar located beneath the candidates list.

Managing Your Results

After having performed a successful search process, you may now begin managing your results either directly from your candidates list or by saving your results to HTML by using the menu item Save to HTML via the File menu, as is shown in the image below:

Save to HTML

Clicking the HTML to Save sub-option under the File menu automatically generates an HTML version of your candidates list, which on completion is automatically opened in your default browser where you can easily manage your results at your convenience.

Note, that you may also double-click any result within your candidates list within our software to visit each link; however, it is recommended that you save your results to HTML for later reference, as closing our software will cause any unsaved results to be lost.

Manually Processing Your Results

Once you have your generated results list it is up to you continue the search manually. As you click through your list you will visit the company’s website where you will look for a link to the company’s career opportunities. Most of the time this link can be found located at the bottom or top of the company’s website; however, the link could also be located in the company’s Contact or About Us section hidden behind an animated menu.

Once you have located the company’s careers page, browse their open positions and apply for anything that you feel you are qualified for and wait to be contacted by HR. This process could take several days or even a month; therefore, we recommend that you keep a list of the companies you apply to, so that you can keep track of what you’ve applied to, when you’ve applied to it, and will be able to reference the job description if you are contacted for an interview. While you patiently await their call, keep applying elsewhere!
